* It is recommenced that you reapply protective weatherproofing every 2-4 years.  Most products available should last at least 2 years IF PROPERLY applied.

* If your deck gets excessive sun exposure OR if it gets no sun at all (and mildews) - reapplication more frequently is necessary.

* NEW deck?  Damage starts occurring to wood immediately once exposed to the elements.  It is typically recommended that new wood not be stained for 2-3 months.  Some types of wood can be treated sooner - it just has to be dry.

The TIME is NOW to schedule your deck cleaning & staining service for this year!!!  Call EDDIE today!  515-537-7752

Why choose C&C Home Services?

FAIR ESTIMATES:

We put serious consideration into the amount if time it will take to complete your project when we are doing work by the hour.  We are NOT interested in being in your home for as long as we can & bill as many hours as we can.

Our goal is to do your project efficiently and as cost-effectively as possible!

C&C Home Services rarely goes over the amount of hours from our original quote.  But let’s face it – sometimes a project may present us with a surprise and require additional work that was unforeseen.  ONLY when circumstances are out of our control do we ever add additional hours….and we do so ONLY after a consultation & thorough explanation – so we promise no surprises when the final bill is presented.

BID THE WORK YOU REQUEST...ONLY:

Eddie is a professional salesperson but will never sell you on additional services that you do not request…and will NEVER be dishonest & sell you services that you do not need. Period.

NEVER MISREPRESENT EXPERIENCE:

We will never misrepresent our experience and qualifications!   While we do have experience in minor electrical & plumbing work (for example)….we also know when we need to bring in a licensed professional to help complete a project.  OR if the work can all be done by one of those professionals…we will turn the work completely over to them.

You can trust that C&C Home Services will not take on any project that we are not 100% confident in our skills & abilities to complete.  We treat the work we do at your home as if we were doing it in our own home!

WHY DO WE MAKE THESE PROMISES?

We are honest & trustworthy.  100% integrity in the home services business is not always apparent.  C&C Home Services wants to be the company you trust 100%...completely!  A majority of our business is not from advertising…but comes from REFERRALS from our customers who we have provided our high quality services to!  You can’t beat that kind of advertising!

If you're like most people - you can't find a place to put the enormous city garbage & recycling totes we are stuck with.  And even if you do have the room for them in your garage -- they stink too badly to leave them inside.

We added a concrete pad -- THANKS to our good friend Steve at PEARSON"S LANDSCAPING & GRADING - and built this attractive fence.  Easy to move them around - but hidden as requested per our neighborhood "covenants" - and lit with solar lighting so they are easy to get to in the dark.

If you are getting ready to sell your house, or it is already on the market and possibly not seeing much activity….C&C Home Services can help you by cleaning it up and making minor repairs!

1st thing….LISTEN TO YOUR REALTOR and take their advise!  If s/he tells you to clean, make repairs or update something…you should.  Your Realtor is a great source of information – they know what you need to do to help get your house sold & they understand what buyer’s are looking for - and expect that you maintained - in a new home!

C&C Home Services can help get your house clean!

  • Clean your EXTERIOR SIDING and GUTTERS.  A potential buyer will not like dirty siding and full gutters.  Also, cleaning the exterior of your home & the gutters could help you find possible maintenance issues that need to be addressed before an inspector comes and finds them & the buyer’s have to ask for things to be repaired/replaced.
  • Clean your WINDOWS.  Clean windows have an amazing effect on your home not only by letting more light into your home so it appears open, fresh & clean…but draws people to your outdoor living spaces as well.
  • Clean your DECK.  Iowa weather quickly weathers your deck, fading the stain and turning the boards gray.  Clean it to remove dirt & stains, remove old faded or peeling stain and then brighten it help get the color back to like it used to be.  Then stain & seal it for added benefit to a new buyer.  These few (& easy) steps will make a remarkable difference in the appearance of the deck.
  • Clean your CONCRETE.  Typically, your driveway, sidewalk & garage floors are the most neglected part of your home, that are often the dirtiest.  Removing dirt, stains & oil spots is very important to the curb appeal of your house.

C&C Home Services can help you make repairs & updates!

  • Repair holes in walls
  • PAINT rooms.  Remember, not everyone one will like your color choices – you need to make your home appeal to anyone who walks in the door.  Rooms need to be painted in a neutral color.
  • Recaulk tubs, showers and sinks.
  • Replace your kitchen cabinet hardware.
  • Fix doors & drawers that are not working properly.
  • Fix leaking faucets.
  • PEST CONTROL. Treat for pests, get rid of cobwebs.
  • Replace outdated lighting fixtures.
  • Secure handrails.
  • Install new blinds.
  • HAUL it away!  If you can’t sell it or donate it…get rid of it!  Do NOT leave ‘stuff’ or garbage behind!
  • And so much MORE!!  Just ask!

If potential buyers feel like there is too much work THEY need to do on your home – it will deter them from making you an offer.  Show buyers that your home was well cared for and maintained.

If you do not have the time to do these things or cannot do them on your own…I would LOVE to help you!!  Please call C&C Home Services today!!!  537-7752 or email us at

Eddie has been hard a work doing more painting for me.  Lucky for him....he's about out of walls to paint at our house. :-)

Sorry for all the pictures from work at our house....he's got a bad habit of not remembering to take his camera with him on the jobs he's been doing this winter.  But he's been VERY busy -- lots of termite inspections (the housing market isn't that bad) & visits to his regular pest control customers -- he's also been getting rental properties ready for new tenants, installing new closet organziers & shelving and more painting -- so I'll cut him some slack for now!!

Our living room was a standard flat ivory paint the builder used and it was changed to a satin warm gold.  Very comfy, cozy & calming!!

If you need help painting or installing something new in your home, please give Eddie a call!!

Winter is in full force and we are stuck in the house and this particular winter, it seems, is keeping us inside quite a bit.   Are you starting to look around and notice all the things that could be changed or need to be changed?

One of the easiest changes to make that will have the most impact on your home and even your mood – is fresh paint!  It’s also one of the least expensive changes you can make.

Some great reasons to paint now….

*If you’ve had the same paint color for years and are ready for a change.

*You chose the wrong color – you had something in mind, but it didn’t turn out like you imagined.

*Too many boring white/ivory walls – ready to take the leap and add some color.

Warm colors tend to stimulate your mind.
Cool colors tend to calm and relax your mind.

Painting a room can make your space warm & welcoming or bright & alive. Don’t be afraid to experiment with color.  The beauty of paint – it can always be changed!

Ready to get started?  We can help you pick out something nice that will make you forget about the snow & ice outside and remind you that spring is right around the corner.   Eddie has color wheels to make it easy to select something perfect. Or if you have a favorite brand of paint, let him know and he can get a color wheel or samples and bring them to you.

Interior painting is affordable if you choose C&C Home Services!  Call Eddie for a free estimate today!!

WOW! I am really bad at this blogging thing! :-) I promise to try to do it more frequently.

Eddie has been busy doing lots of handyman work in between his pest control & pest inspections.  He's been doing lots of painting, picture & shelf hanging and staircase repairs.  If you need help painting, changing out light fixtures, putting down some new flooring...or whatever - give him a call!

And speaking of flooring and painting -- Eddie's been so busy that I've patiently put up with my bathroom remodel taking extra long (you see how I rate J LOL!!) – but I can finally announce that IT IS DONE!  And I am thrilled with how it turned out!!

Notice the GORGEOUS porcelain tiles???  See my friend Bill at Royal Flooring in Altoona – they rock!!  They have tons of beautiful tiles, woods and laminates to choose from!  (Make sure you tell him we sent you!)

Enjoy the pics!!  And remember - if you are interested in updating your bathroom or any other room in your home....please call C&C Home Services to help you with your project!
